5月20日，来自英国伍思特（Worcester）市的巴布拉 布尼顿女士来我校进行交流。我校师生都感到高兴和激动。在这几天里，我们给巴布拉女士介绍了我校的基本情况。巴布拉女士参观了我校校园并走进了课堂。她参与了两节英语课、体育课、美术课和音乐课。每节课后，她都与学生以及上课的教师进行交流并互留了联系方式。下午，巴布拉女士还给初一年级的学生们做了一个讲座，近百名学生代表参加了这次讲座。巴布拉女士从教20多年，教学经验丰富。她首先向大家介绍了英语教育的特点，并与中国的教育进行比较。她认为每个国家都应该有具有自己特色的教育体系。接下来她又向我们介绍了她所在学校的情况，包括教学设施，教学场所，学生学习的课程以及教师的教学特色。从她声情并茂的讲解中，学生们了解到了英国初级教育的教育特点。在她演讲结束后，学生们踊跃发言提问，如：“您第一次来到我校对我校有何评价？”“请问如何才能学好英语？”“英国的学生要参加考试吗？”等问题。巴布拉女士都给予了热情的回答。这次讲座气氛热烈，学生表现非常活跃，同时也使在座的师生对英语教育有了初步的了解。
5月21日，巴布拉女士还在我校的英语教师家中就餐，和老师们一起包饺子，吃粽子，畅谈中英教育的发展及文化差异。我校和Worcester市一直有着很深的感情。2005年，王校长曾前往Worcester市进行交流。2006年，我校和Worcester市的Hanley Castle中学结成了姐妹学校。同年夏天，我校的四名教师和二十名学生前往Hanley Castle中学进行交流，学生还住在了结对学生的家中，很多同学和Hanley Castle中学的同学成为了好朋友。2007年，Hanley Castle中学的师生也来到我校进行回访。他们不仅参观了校园还领略了扬州的美丽风景、品尝了扬州的美食。扬州和Worcester市一样，都有着悠久的历史。我们希望能有更多的机会和Worcester市的教育同行进行合作与交流。
May 20, Mrs B has come to visit our school. All the teachers and students are pleased and excited. In the past few days, we have presented to Mrs B the basic situation of our school. Mrs. B visited the school campus and even attended in two English classes, PE classes, art classes and music lessons. After each class, she would talk to the students and teachers to exchange opinions. afternoon, Ms. B gave a lecture to the students of Grade 7. Ms. B is a wonderful teacher with more than 20 years of teaching experience. She first introduced the characteristics of English education, and comparing the education in China, she believes that every country has its own characteristic education system. She also talked about her school, including teaching facilities, educational establishments, subjects and teaching characteristics. In the end of her speech many students asked questions, such as: "What do you think of our school? " "How can we learn English?" "Do British students take exams?" And so on. Ms.B gave a warm response to all these questions. From the lecture the audience has the first impression of English education system.
May 20, Ms. B was invited to our English teacher’s home. They cooked some traditional Chinese food—dumplings, and talked about the development of Sino-British education and cultural differences. There has been a good relationship between Worcester and our school. In 2005,our principal Wang visited Worcester . In 2006, our school and Hanley Castle Middle School in Worcester formed a sister school. In the summer of that year four teachers and 20 students of our school went to Hanley Castle School . The exchange students lived in the home of local families, many students and Hanley Castle Middle School students became good friends. In 2007, the teachers and students in Hanley Castle Middle School also paid a return visit to my school. They not only visited the campus also enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Yangzhou and Yangzhou delicious food. Like the city of Yangzhou, Worcester has a long history. We hope to have more opportunities to cooperate with the teachers in Worcester.
